A normal article regarding a new laser installation in the current market climate would read along the lines of “during these unprecedented times innovation is more important than ever”, but the reality is, this is how The Laser Cutting Co has always operated.
“Capacity has long been an important strength of ours that, when combined with a tight scrutiny on quality [in line with ISO9001 accreditation], allows us to comfortably cater for challenging customer needs” says Charlie Day, Sales and Business Development Director. “Alongside our tube laser cutting and design services our offering really is unique, particularly for those larger projects where lead time and reliability are key for scheduling and keeping costs down”.
The installation of this new Trumpf 5040 10kw bolsters TLCC’s already industry leading capacity, bringing their total number of lasers to 10 in group, all based in Sheffield. Pair this with the variance of cutting capability that includes tube and open section laser cutting, in addition to flame cutting and waterjet cutting, they really do lead the way in specialist cutting services.
The company’s breadth of in-house skills and capabilities is aptly demonstrated in the mezzanine structure. Designed by the Smart Design Production team and from material supply to its 6 axis laser cutting, through to full fabrication and assembly, it is a great example of what the experienced team is capable of. The final product has a total weight capacity of 5 tonnes and holds all of the laser’s separate components.
Pete Doane Commercial Manager says “these mezzanines are a great example of our ability to meet requirements without any third-party dependencies. Not only does this create additional space to ensure efficient loading and unloading, we are also able to offer these mezzanines as product ‘sets’ complete with full structural calculations to customers”.
Throughout the pandemic The Laser Cutting Co. has proven to be a reliable and proficient partner, even getting involved in ventilator design and manufacture during the early stages. Through this proactive and solution driven approach to enquiries, the company has experienced significant growth throughout.
The current evolving situation in Ukraine is having direct and widespread impacts on the steel industry as a whole, but with a robust network of material suppliers and such variance of in-house capabilities, the company continues to prove itself the logical choice for your Partner in Production.
