The Laser Cutting Company is pleased to announce that after undergoing extensive auditing we have been awarded a Factory Production Control (FPR) certificate ensuring we conform to the BS EN 1090-1:2009/A1:2011 standard for the thermal cutting/profiling of steel and aluminium components. By conforming to this EU standard, we are now able to provide CE-ready laser cut tube, box, section, and sheet parts for steel structures in execution class EXC 1 up to EXC 3.
For us to provide laser cut parts that meet BS EN 1090-1, the customer must specify the need for the job the be CE complaint at enquiry stage. This enables us to ensure that we source material from a CE-approved steel mill, carry out the correct processes, and include the relevant test certificates that ensure the part is compliant for use within projects which require CE Marking.
By being awarded a Factory Production Control certificate, you can be assured that The Laser Cutting Company is here to help you with all your CE-compliant laser cutting up to EXC 3 and that our laser cut parts can conform to all mandatory EU legislation and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR).
As of 1st July 2014, CE Marking became mandatory for all traders of fabricated structural steelwork and related products on the European market. As a sub-contractor with many of our customers working within the construction industry, we understood the requirement to provide products and services that fulfil the legal obligations outlined by the CPR.
TUV NL Certification to BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 Execution class 3
To work in the most safety-critical environments requires the highest levels of quality assurance We have been awarded a Factory Production Control (FPC) certificate conforming to the BS EN 1090-1:2009-+A1:2011 standard. Whilst The Laser Cutting Company has achieved up to EXC 3, we also have access to flat laser, waterjet and flame cut profiling at our sister company Charles Day (Steels) Ltd, who achieved EXC class 4, the highest achievable level. This demonstrates that the Company can provide advanced-level compliance to the CE marking required in Structural Steel Regulation, and is competent to work on the most demanding, zero-tolerance projects.
We join an elite group of UK companies in achieving this prestigious standard – Execution Class 3 should be applied to special structures or structures with extreme consequences of a structural failure as required by the Design Authority.
We have achieved our BS EN ISO 9001:2015 certification through NQA
The company has also achieved separate NQA Certification to BS EN ISO 9001:2015. This serves to assure our clients of a fully qualified team of experienced personnel as part of all activities from receiving the enquiry through to delivery. The Comprehensive quality standard covers the Manufacture of Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Profiles and Parts of engineered products and specialist equipment. This includes safety-critical items using Carbon, Stainless, and Aluminium.
Laser Cutting Structural Steel
Our CE-ready, BS EN 1090-1 compliant laser cutting for structural metalwork services enables us to cut a wide range of structural steel sections and metalwork profiles commonly used throughout the construction industry. Our certification allows us to provide laser-cut parts for steel structures in execution class EXC 1 to EXC 3.
Taking advantage of both our BLM laser tube machines and Mazak 6-axis laser cutter, we can offer 3-dimensional and 6-axis laser cutting on a range of common structural steel sections, including:
CE & UKCA Marking
Since the UK’s departure from the European Union following Brexit, it became necessary for British industries to develop their own accreditation system. The UKCA accreditation, standing for UK Conformity Assessed, is the new certification system required to sell goods and products across England, Scotland and Wales.
Acting much like the CE mark required across Europe, the UKCA mark is essential to ensure the product or goods being distributed meet all of the necessary safety and material resourcing standards required by law. Having both CE and UKCA marking means that your goods can be sold and distributed across England, Scotland and Wales, as well as Europe.
